Sometimes our skin can look a lot more dry and tired than it actually is, especially if you drink a lot of caffeine or if you like to eat dried or salty foods. Whether you’re hoping to change your diet to lose some weight, or if you’re sick and tired of spending money on expensive products just to keep your skin looking healthy, here are six foods that will help give your skin a healthy glow…

1. Yogurt

Yogurt, or specifically low-fat yogurt is packed full of vitamin A which can help cure your skin of any acne breakouts due to skin cell blockage. Not only that, yogurt is extremely healthy for both your digestive and immune system, and can help ward off serious diseases like colon cancer and cardiovascular disease.

2. Blueberries

Experts recommend that you eat blueberries on a regular basis because it is a great source of antioxidants which can combat free radicals that damage your skin cells. Not only that, blueberries are also known to help neutralize DNA-damaging free radicals while reducing cell damage at the same time, and can help your skin look a lot younger than it actually is.

3. Carrots

Because carrots are a great source of vitamin A it can do wonders on the look of your skin. Like blueberries, carrots contain antioxidants which can help prevent the free radical damage of your skin cells, and the vitamins found in carrots can also help treat dry skin as well.

4. Spinach

Spinach is another source of vitamin A which can help maintain the look of your skin. Not only that, scientific studies have shown that eating spinach can also reduce the risk of you developing skin cancer by at least 55 percent!

5. Asparagus

Apparently six spears of asparagus contain approximately 25 percent of the recommended daily dose of vitamin A which can help protect your skin against any damage. Not only that, vitamin A can also help reduce the amount of acne breakouts on your skin as well that are caused from oily skin and blockages.

6. Omega 3 Fatty Acid

Salmon, or any other types of fatty fish for that matter, contains loads of healthy fatty acids like omega-3s, which can help keep your cell membranes healthy while allowing nutrients to enter your skin cells and exit with waste products.

    I’m really attracted to orange color fruits or vegetables that’s why I eat much carrots nowadays. I just know now that aside from treating my migraine, carrots do wonders on my skin.
