Fitness is important, especially in this day and age when obesity is the norm and not the exception. Your fitness routine must not be a roller coaster ride that has its ups and downs but a train that rides on to its destination – good health. You may be exercising all right, but if you’re going about it the wrong way, then all your efforts could come to naught. In order to get the most out of your diet and exercise routine, make sure you don’t ignore these top fitness and health tips:

  1. Focus on cardio routines if you want to lose weight. Activities like jogging, walking, cycling and swimming help you burn fat.
  2. Train your muscles three or four days a week so that you build muscle mass and boost your metabolism. The best way to strengthen your muscles is to cross train.
  3. Give your body enough rest between exercise periods.
  4. Eat breakfast every day. When you skip breakfast, you tend to put on weight because your body tends to go into the starvation mode and starts to hoard fat.
  5. 1.Include more fruits, vegetables, unprocessed foods in your diet and less of salt, sugar and unhealthy fats.
  6. 1.Don’t set unrealistic goals that you cannot achieve – it’s better to exercise five days a week than not at all or follow an erratic schedule where you exercise one day and week one time and three the next.
  7. Don’t drink too much alcohol and stay away from cigarettes and drugs.
  8. Drink lots of water.
  9. Don’t eat late at night. It could give you heartburn and interfere with your sleep.
  10. And finally, get enough sleep every night so that your muscles and joints get enough rest and are rejuvenated for the next day.

Thanks for the great tips Kat!
