We have all probably experienced how our state of health is affected negatively when everybody we meet tells us that we look ill. This is proof that our state of health is affected to a large extent by our state of mind. Similarly, our emotions act as subconscious messages sent to the conscious mind via the body – it then becomes obvious that consistent negative emotions will ALWAYS have a negative impact on our physical body and hence on our health.

Some people are taught not to acknowledge and express their negative feelings because being “emotional” may not be socially acceptable. When we thus ignore our uncomfortable feelings, we are actually pushing them deeper & deeper out of our awareness, and deeper & deeper into our bodies. Denying one’s feelings over a long period of time eventually removes them from immediate conscious awareness. Even though we may adamantly believe it is gone, any unexpressed emotion is still stored away deep within our body, exerting its negative effects, and causing a cumulative impact upon the entire body.

In this way, repressed emotion puts the organs & systems of the body into continual overdrive. The cells, organs & systems of the body then function less & less efficiently over time. The body cannot relax properly and restore itself. This causes a physical imbalance in various organs and systems of the body. The over-activity of the body, combined with little opportunity to restore itself, will eventually cause some form of physical breakdown. However, expressing our feelings causes the emotional energy to be dissolved and our bodies return to a normal state of balanced energy, comfort and relaxation.

Injure your body, and what happens? The body repairs itself, just as it was designed to do by nature. If you cut yourself, or break an arm, your body has the natural built-in capacity to heal the cut, and repair the break. Likewise, the mind is designed by nature to heal itself, just like the body heals itself.

For thousands of years, ancient wisdom has known that man is more than just a physical body. The force we call life, in common with all living things, is seen as a separate energy body that fills the space of the physical body and extends beyond (sometimes referred to as “Soul”). This field is commonly called the aura in the western world and includes the field of formative forces (life body) and the field of emotional and mental forces (astral body).

These bodies directly affect each other with the mental-emotional body playing into the life body and the life body and the physical body directly affecting each other. When these bodies are in harmony we have perfect health and a feeling of well-being. When they are out of balance, out of harmony, we feel lack of energy, stress, pain, dis-ease. The causes of this disharmony between our bodies are manifold. Emotional stress and trauma disturbs our emotional body and causes blockages of energy flow. Our life processes become hindered, weakened and we no longer feel good – this in reality manifests as ILLNESS.
