Job Posting: Get Paid to Sleep in Public!

It’s true, an upcoming art display at the New Museum of Contemporary Art in Manhattan (of course!) is actually paying people to sleep for 6 hours per day while on-display for all to see!

This bizarre display of people sleeping inside of glass displays, which is apparently considered “art”, will be on display at the museum starting April 7th and running until June 28. The artist’s name is Chu Yun, and this is not the first time he’s put sleeping beauties on-display in the name of art – he has done shows in London, China, and throughout Europe.

Apparently, Yun administers each subject with sleeping pills (doctor prescribed) at about 11:45am each day, and the “models” sleep from about noon to 6pm daily all while being on-display for all to see – does anyone else think this is crazy!…But it’s one of those things that is just so unique and intriguing, you just gotta see it!

It must be nice to be able to sleep on the job, even if you’re being viewed by potentially thousands of people daily while doing so. Reportedly each sleeping model is paid $10 per hour, and the requirements include that you must be a woman between the ages of 18 to 40 – who wants to see men sleeping anyway! This raises the important question of what will these women be wearing?…hmmm.
